Hello and welcome to my little corner of the net.
Here, you will find handbags using the same technique and upcycled material.
Yes, I'm passionate about old things, objects that time has rusted, forgotten, or abandoned. My creations come from this recycled material, chance findings in markets and waysides, ex-factory stock, or product from specialist shops.

My handbags combine delicate tapestries, antique brocades, damask, passementerie, and clasps with aged, savage, robust textiles and the special addition of out-of-context trimmings such as bronze draw pulls, brasswork, ceramics, painted canvases, paper, and photographs. All of this is blended to seek a romantic result which captures the beauty of past times.
My studio follows the handcraft code (everything is made by hand); the hand finish adds to the look of the design. The aim is to combine the sophistication of design with the rudimentary element of the artisan. The result is obviously not the product of an assembly line. We’re not talking about models with perfectly regular finishes but bags or accessories that are practically unrepeatable, a factor that goes a long way to increasing their value and exclusivity.

I see handbags as artistic works, so trends do not inform what I make; I'm not dragged along by "what they're wearing" this season. I prefer the effort of imagining and the satisfaction of describing.
When it comes to collage, I value effects caused by time...rust, the worn glaze of exposed wood, chance textures, old papers and manuscripts. I look for them in hundred-year-old objects and frame them with found, recylced frames, as well as boxes, car parts, and upholstered wood.
It means working and investigating in order to get something constructive out of disused materials - UPCYCLING.
For the artist, the pleasure does not lie in possessing the item, but in the act of creating it..
